Waiver Modernization: What’s Changing and What’s Next
The MCBDD is committed to keep our individuals served, their families, and providers informed when it comes to any changes affecting the DODD waiver system. DODD has identified several important improvements to make sure the waiver program works well for everyone.
A new and big update we want to share with you is changes to DODD assessments. After listening to people served, families, providers, and county boards, the department is moving to a new national assessment tool called interRAI. This new tool will replace the current assessments (ODDP and AAI) that many people said didn’t work well for them, didn’t capture their needs, or lead to the right services. DODD is committed to making the interRAI better match services to people’s needs.
