The Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities is pleased to announce that Emily Martinez has been hired as Director of Community Services. This is the largest department of the MCBDD, coordinating services and supports for 1500 individuals with disabilities and their families. Martinez has worked in this field for more than 15 years, most recently at Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She has been a Service and Support Administrator (SSA), SSA Director, and SSA Supervisor. She also has extensive experience in leadership, financial management, provider relations, and ISP development and training. At MCBDD, Martinez will head a department of 50 people working to maximize the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Martinez currently lives in Austintown with her family. She will start at MCBDD July 15, taking the place of outgoing Community Services Director Toni Scurpa, who has taken the position of Superintendent at the Ashtabula County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
